What:  The Virginia Museum of Natural History is hosting the first-ever Bug Daze Photo Contest, and we are asking you to submit your best bug photo for a chance to be recognized at the 5th annual Bug Daze festival on Saturday, May 22 at the museum.

When:  Now! Entries are currently being accepted with a submission deadline of May 15.

Who:  Everyone! Anybody is welcome to submit their photo*.  There will be one category for children and youth 13 and under, as well as youth and adults 14 or older.

How:  Simply submit your entry via email by clicking the link below.  Only one entry per
person.  Please make sure your name and age are included.  Anyone under 18 should ask a
parent or guardian for permission first.  Please make sure attachments are 10 MB or less.  JPEG or PNG files are preferred.

All entries will be displayed in a slide show on the big screens in the museum’s Harvest
Foundation Great Hall during the Bug Daze festival.  1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes will be awarded for both the “13 and Under” and “14 and Older” categories.  1st place prizes include a free one-year VMNH Family Membership.  All winners will receive a behind-the-scenes tour of the museum (to be scheduled in advance).  Contact us at 276-634-4165 or information@vmnh.virginia.gov for more information.
