2010 Virginia Arbor Day Poster Contest
“Trees are Terrific…and Energy Wise!” is the theme for this years National Arbor Day Foundation Poster contest, open to all local 5th grade students. The contest is sponsored by the Virginia Museum of Natural History, the Virginia Department of Forestry, and the National Arbor Day Foundation.
The 2010 Contest Guidebook is now available at the Arbor Day Website to all 5th grade teachers. We would like you to encourage your students to design an original poster focusing on the 2010 contest theme: Trees are Terrific…and Energy Wise! Please read the contest guidelines carefully. Only posters that meet the guidelines will be eligible for judging.
School winners are entered in the state contest. The Virginia state grand prize winner and nine runners-up will receive prizes and be honored at the luncheon in May. The state grand prize winning poster will then go on to compete in the national contest, in which a first, second, and third place winner will be chosen to represent the nation.
Posters must be postmarked by Tuesday, March 9, 2010. The one winning poster from you school must be sent to:
