June 21 - November 30, 2008
Marine mollusks provide scientists with records of climate changes and evolution over the last 500 million years. This exhibition includes specimens from the Atlantic and Gulf Coastal Plains, from Massachusetts to Mississippi. The species range from the spectacular to the microscopic. One of these species, Chesapecten jeffersonius, was chosen as the Virginia State Fossil in 1993.
