Museum hosting Holiday Open House event December 1
Don't miss the Holiday Open House at VMNH on Tuesday, December 1. VMNH is the place to be this holiday season, with fun activities for visitors of all ages. Below are a few of the exciting events at the museum this holiday season. For more information, please call 276-634-4141 or email information@vmnh.virginia.gov.
Tuesday, December 1, 3-6 p.m. - Holiday Open House at VMNH. Local school children will decorate natural trees outside the museum, and the trees at VMNH will officially be lit. Take advantage of spectacular specials in the Museum Store.
1 p.m. - Classes from Albert Harris Elementary School to decorate live trees
3 to 6 p.m. - Holiday Open House participants can visit the museum from 3 to
6 p.m. with free admission. Visitors can experience the museum's award-winning exhibits and get a first glimpse at the spectacular 20-foot tall VMNH Christmas Tree in The Harvest Foundation Great Hall.
3 to 4 p.m. – Scavenger Hunt, Shopping and Refreshments
4 p.m. – Puppet Skits
4:30 p.m. – Children’s Choirs
5:30 p.m. – Santa will be on hand to read the book "Dinosaurs' Night before Christmas".
6 p.m. - Lighting of the Live Christmas Trees
Thursday, December 3, 3-5 p.m. - Volunteer Appreciation Reception in the Walker Lecture Hall at the museum.
Saturday, December 5, 6 p.m. - The VMNH Float will be in the Martinsville Uptown Christmas Parade.
Thursday, December 10, 5:30-7:30 p.m. - Business After Hours event for Martinsville-Henry County Chamber of Commerce members at VMNH. The museum will serve as a one-of-a-kind venue with beautiful holiday decorations for the Martinsville-Henry County's "Business After Hours" event.
Thursday, December 17, 6:30-10:30 p.m. - The Young Friends of VMNH are hosting a "Tacky Christmas Sweater Party". The event features Christmas Cocktails and Dinner
