Summer Camp - Dino Discovery -

Dino Discovery – Let’s travel back in time to when dinosaurs ruled the earth.  Campers will examine how fossils form and explore the museum’s dinosaur exhibit. Campers who attend this camp will gain free entry to the museum’s Dino Festival occurring the Friday and Saturday after camp ends.

Crowds roaring into the Virginia Museum of Natural History on Friday, July 27 and Saturday, July 28 for the museum’s Dino Festival will be greeted by a plethora of real dinosaur fossils, life-sized cast skeletons, and an interactive dinosaur maze exhibit.

Summer Camp - Nature Around Us -

Nature Around Us – Be prepared to get dirty as we learn about gardening and taking care of Mother Earth. Hands-on activities will explore plants and critters in the garden, recycling and conservation, as well as tools and tips for making your garden grow.  Dress for the outdoors/messy.

State budget includes $250,000 to continue planning for new museum campus in Waynesboro

The Commonwealth of Virginia has provided the Virginia Museum of Natural History a $250,000 appropriation to produce detailed planning for its proposed branch campus in Waynesboro.

VMNH receives $10,000 grant for exhibit partnership

This collaborative grant from the Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation will support development and installation of exhibits at Natural Bridge State Park.

Special Sunday hours May 27-September 2

From May 27 to September 2, 2018, the Virginia Museum of Natural History will be open each Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.
