The Virginia Museum of Natural History is dedicated to providing engaging science and engineering programming to homeschool students. Currently, the museum offers the Homeschool Science and Engineering Academy, a series of bi-monthly programs from September to May designed to supplement students' learning and knowledge of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) based topics.

Additionally, the museum will work with homeschool groups individually to design and provide programming relevant to students' needs. As with all school groups, the museum also will provide guided, educational tours for homeschool groups. Click here or contact us at discover@vmnh.virginia.gov or 276-634-4185 to schedule a tour or learn more about what the museum can offer your students.

Homeschool Science and Engineering Academy

VMNH offers engaging science and engineering programs for home school students. Programs are held the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 10 to 11:15 a.m. Programs are divided into three age groups; 6-8, 9-11, and 12-14 and students must meet the minimum age for each group by September 1. The program fee is $7 per student. Discounts are available for prepayment of all sessions at the beginning of each academic year or for families with two or more children enrolled.
