�� �� Smithsonian Secretary Lonnie G. Bunch published a statement earlier today regarding the institute's efforts in helping safeguard the rich cultural and historical heritage of Ukraine - a nation home to seven world heritage sites - under threat due to the current military invasion.

VMNH is grateful for all of the efforts of the Smithsonian and for our ongoing partnership with the Smithsonian Cultural Rescue Initiative (SCRI) as we continuously work together to assess the damage to cultural sites across Ukraine through the Cultural Heritage Monitoring Lab (CHML) headquartered here at the museum.
