5th-grade students from Albert Harris Elementary School in Martinsville took part in a JAKES program presented by the National Wild Turkey Federation at the Virginia Museum of Natural History on November 15, 2011. The students enjoyed numerous hands-on activities, including air-rifle shooting, archery, and hands-on educational programs introducing participants to the outdoors. The JAKES program at VMNH was made possible by support from the Kiwanis Club of Martinsville.
