Rebecca Wells, director of special education at Henry County Public Schools, along with educational diagnosticians Cynthia Anderson and Debbie Coleman, conducted a presentation to VMNH interpreters about the state of special education in the county school system today at the museum.
Museum interpreters are volunteers who play a critical role in helping deliver educational programming, as well as educational tours throughout the museum's exhibits, to school groups throughout the year. The periodic presentations allow interpreters to stay up-to-date about the museum's audiences to better accommodate VMNH visitors.
If you or anyone you know is interested in volunteering as a museum interpreter, we would greatly appreciate your service! A familiarity with education is a plus, but we have interpreters from a variety of non-educational backgrounds. Please email discover@vmnh.virginia.gov to learn more!
