VMNH Curator of Mammals Dr

VMNH Curator of Mammals Dr. Nancy Moncrief recently traveled to Waynesboro to attend the 2022 Annual Meeting of the Virginia Chapter of The Wildlife Society where she presented information about her research regarding squirrels. Her co-authors for this particular study, titled "Skeletal injuries in two North American tree squirrels (Sciurus niger and S. carolinensis)", are fellow VMNH staff members Dr. Kal Ivanov and Liberty Hightower, along with Dr. Alfred Mead, who is on the faculty of Georgia College and State University.

The annual meeting was attended by professionals from multiple state and federal agencies, as well as faculty members and students from several Virginia colleges and universities.
