The event will feature
  • An evening reception on Sunday, May 15th at Wild Magnolia’s. Food and drinks are available for purchase.
    • 730 E Church Street, Ste 7A, Martinsville, VA
  • Oral and poster presentations at VMNH in Walker Lecture Hall on May 16th. Morning refreshments, lunch and afternoon refreshments will be provided.
    • 21 Starling Avenue, Martinsville, VA
  • Dinner reception following the presentations at Serendipity Coffeehouse and Bistro on May 16th. Food and drinks are available for purchase.
    • 10 E Church Street, Martinsville, VA
  • Field trip to Solite Quarry and Virginia Tech Paleontology Facilities on May 17th. Transportation provided.

  • Field trip to Stratford Hall, Virginia May 18-19. This location features many fossils of the Miocene-aged Calvert Cliff Formation along the Potomac River, led by VMNH Curator Emeritus Dr. Lauck Ward.  Common fossils include shark teeth and whale bones. Attendees for this trip will need to provide their own transportation, or share with another attendee, as well as lodging and meals.

 Abstracts
  • The abstract deadline has now been extended to Friday, April 22nd.
  • Submission format should follow the 2011 SeAVP Abstract book.
  • Word limit: 300
  • Lead author should specify if they wish an oral or poster presentation.
  • Oral presentations will be limited to 15 minutes each.

Submissions should be emailed electronically to Dr. Alex Hastings.

    • Registration fee: $30
  • Regular Registration: May 2 - May 14
    • Registration fee: $40
