Dr. DorothyBelle Poli (right), associate professor of biology at Roanoke College and VMNH research associate, and Dr. Stoneman, scholar of folk tales and lore, gave the presentation "Hunting Dragons: Using fossils to explore lore" on Thursday, March 13 at the museum to a crowd of approximately 40 people. The presentation focussed on how the fossil "Lepidodendron" may be the answer to understanding how the story of dragons came to be in lore. We greatly appreciate Dr. Poli and Dr. Stoneman for presenting at the museum!

The next "2nd Thursday Science Talk" is April 10 when Dr. Donna Boyd, eminent professor of anthropological sciences at Radford University will be presenting. More details to follow soon!
