About the Workshop

Get curious about the tiny world of insects through art!

Renowned nature artist Suzanne Stryk is bringing her passion for the natural world to two fun, hands-on workshops at the Virginia Museum of Natural History designed for young artists ages 6–18.

During the "Think Small" art workshops, participants will explore the amazing world of insects through drawing techniques taught by Suzanne. Suzanne will demonstrate how to make a quick sketch, followed by a detailed study, and suggest to participants ways to take notes to enhance observations. The use of stereoscopes during the workshop will give participants an up-close look at the miniature world of insects in a way that allows students to see this miniature world even more clearly!

The workshop fee is just $10 per participant, which covers all materials. Space is limited for both sessions. Registration will end when all available spots are reserved or September 15, whichever comes first. Be sure to register before it's too late!
