The Virginia Natural History Society (VNHS) met Saturday ...

The Virginia Natural History Society (VNHS) met Saturday, November 2 at the Virginia Museum of Natural History. More than 40 members of the society attended the meeting and saw a variety of presentations on the Commonwealth's native fauna.

Presenters included Steve Roble, Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, former editor of the VNHS publication "Banisteria"; Curt Harden, graduate student at Clemson University; John C. Bunch, Virginia Master Naturalist; Paul Marek, Dept. of Entomology at Virginia Tech; Kal Ivanov, Assistant Curator of Invertebrate Zoology at VMNH; Arthur V. Evans, author of numerous entomology-related publications; Fernanda Vasquez-Valverde, graduate student at Virginia Tech; Derek A. Hennen, Dept. of Entomology at Virginia Tech; Karen Powers, professor at Radford University; Lauren Burroughs, student at Radford University; and Nancy Moncrief, Curator of Mammalogy at VMNH.

$5 for ages 3-17, seniors 60+, and college students
FREE for children under 3, museum members, and members of ASTC participating institutions

My 4 year old son loves going to the museum. The exhibits are educational, interactive and kid-friendly.
