Virginia is chock full of geological richness

Virginia is chock full of geological richness. Today, VMNH Research Associate Bill Henika and VMNH Executive Director Dr. Joe Keiper took advantage of the pleasant weather conditions to tour a variety of geological sites in Augusta County and nearby locations. While one of the images seen here may seem just like a picture of an ordinary rock to many, you can actually see worm burrows within it dating back to the Cambrian Period, a time marked by a dramatic burst of evolutionary changes in life on Earth.
