Science Saturday: Bug Day

Calling all entomologists, future entomologists, and lovers of all things bugs! Join Curator of Recent Invertebrates Dr. Kal Ivanov and his team of researchers as they present a spectacular array of specimens from the museum's scientific collections during Science Saturday: Bug Day on Saturday, February 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at VMNH!

Interact with the VMNH bug experts as you view incredible displays of some of the museum's most impressive invertebrate specimens! Be among the first to view specimens recently collected by museum scientists during fieldwork in South America and Asia, while learning how they were collected and what makes them special directly from the people who collected them!

Live specimens will also take center stage during Bug Day, with scheduled special appearances by the Asian Forest Scorpion, Spanish Pill Bug, Titan Isopod, the Blue Death Feigning Beetle and more! Bug Day will also offer our younger visitors a variety of special hands-on, bug-themed activities led by the museum's expert educators!

Better yet, all Bug Day offerings are included in the price of general admission! We look forward to seeing you here!
