Celebrate Mother Earth during the Earth Day family festival on April 20th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Smith River Sports Complex.  Enjoy a large array of games and crafts, along with guided hikes, face painting and much more!

If you plan to attend the Earth Day family festival, a new, easy and LESS EXPENSIVE pricing structure is in place.  Pay what you want to receive admission to the festival AND gain free admission to the museum to participate in the one-of-a-kind "Airigami" event, a special event at the Virginia Museum of Natural History where the public will help the museum build a dinosaur balloon sculpture inside the Harvest Foundation of the Piedmont Hall of Ancient Life!

Earth Day Family Festival
: Smith River Sports Complex, 1000 Irisburg Road
What:  games, crafts, guided hikes, face painting
When:  Saturday, April 20th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Airigami Dinsosaur Balloon Sculpture
Where: Virginia Museum of Natural History, 21 Starling Avenue
What:  Help museum staff and renowned "Airigami" artists build a fiersome dinosaur sculpture inside the museum's Hall of Ancient Life
When: April 20 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (This event will also be open to the public w/admission on April 21 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
