Doodle Bugs - Preschool Program -

VMNH offers children ages 3 to 5 the opportunity to experience science and engineering first-hand with the Doodle Bugs! program. The hour-long programs include imaginative stories, fun activities, games and crafts that spark creativity and curiosity. They are the perfect opportunity for adults and grandparents to learn and have fun with their children! Programs are held at 10 a.m. on the second Wednesday of the month from September - May. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Doodle Bugs! is also available to daycare providers! A museum educator will visit your daycare to provide the Doodle Bugs! program on a day that suits your needs. Of course, the museum will also offer the program to your daycare here at the museum!

VMNH announces campaign to design and create life-sized model of largest bird to ever fly

The Virginia Museum of Natural History has announced a $25,000 campaign to fund the creation of the first-ever, life-sized model of Pelagornis sandersi, an extinct species of bird that had the largest wingspan of any known bird to have ever flown.
