"I have been interested in learning about animals and the natural world for as long as I can remember. My original career plan was to become a zookeeper, but after being introduced to research during my undergraduate education, I discovered this new career path that allowed me to continue pursuing my passion through my work. After gaining experience in federal policymaking, I was re-inspired to conduct research that helps people make more informed decisions about how to conserve biodiversity while addressing other important issues like food security. Ultimately, I hope that my work can contribute to making the world a healthier place for both people and the planet."
