As the holiday season approaches, we want to share the museum's upcoming closings. The museum is open Monday-Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. except on the following days: November 27: close at noon November 28 (Thanksgiving): closed December 24 (Christmas Eve): close at noon December 25 (Christmas): closed December 31 (New Year's Eve): close at noon January 1 (New Year's Day): closed We look forward to seeing you at the museum!

Armed with an iPad, vast knowledge, and their unyielding charm, Christy Deatherage, museum education coordinator, and Debbi Bryant conduct a distance learning program from the museum's Harvest Foundation of the Piedmont Hall of Ancient Life for participants at this year's VAST (Virginia Association of Science Teachers) conference in Norfolk, Virginia. Christy and Debbi helped conduct a conference session remotely with Dr. Denny Casey, VMNH director of education and public programs, who is in Norfolk leading several sessions at this year's conference.
