This summer, VMNH educators led week-long "Engineering Challenge" camps for three MHC After 3 sites, including Bassett Community Center, Fieldale Community Center, and Fieldale-Collinsville Middle School. Campers spent the week engineering their own projects, which they presented at the museum to their parents, instructors, and fellow campers on Thursday, July 25. Awards were given to the top projects based on voting by their peers and all camp participants received a free student membership to the museum for a year. With the membership, students are able to visit the museum at any time for free, as well as several hundred other museums and science centers across the country.
