HOMESCHOOL PARENTS AND TEACHERS! The museum is hosting a Homeschool Open House on Wednesday, August 16 from 10 a.m. to noon! The event is designed to give participants the opportunity to learn about the museum and its homeschool education programs, as well as the opportunity to meet the museum's educators. There's no need to sign-up. Just stop by and learn how the museum can provide exceptional STEM programming for your children and students throughout the upcoming school year! Thank you to all of the new Martinsville City Public School teachers for taking the time to stop by the museum today to learn how we can help with your curriculum needs this coming school year. The museum offers a broad range of programming for all grade levels that can take place at the museum, as well as inside each school classroom via our outreach education programming. The museum's 2017-18 Education Program Guide will be available online soon, providing a comprehensive list of how the museum can help every teacher provide memorable, hands-on education for their students this coming school year!

We had a blast hosting nearly 200 students from the Summer Residential Governor's School for Mathematics, Science, and Technology today at the museum! Museum curators, research staff, and research interns provided hands-on programming, covering topics in paleontology, archaeology, mammalogy, and invertebrate zoology throughout the day.
